Congratulations J.C. Stacy!

On Saturday, August 24th, 2024 it was announced J.C. Stacy will be inducteded into the Oklahoma BMX Hall of Fame

From the Oklahoma BMX Hall of Fame:

J.c. Stacy is one of the most accomplished Freestyle riders in Oklahoma history. It is a great honor, on behalf of the Committee and all riders, to announce his induction to the Oklahoma BMX Hall of Fame Class of 2024. J.C Stacy is known as the “flatland fanatic” and was part of the Oklahoma City
freestyle team The Freestyle Flyboys. J.C. joined Charles Long and Jeff Hester to form a triple threat freestyle team shortly after Dallas Labrada retired from performing.

J.C went on to put on and perform in years of freestyle shows, performing all over Oklahoma for the boy scouts, car shows, and supporting
other local events. He competed in AFA contests and finished on top of the local
competition.

J.C is from McCloud, Oklahoma. J.C. was featured in publications and a national industry magazine “Freestylin.” He has always represented bmx freestyle with a cheerful heart, and a humble style. J.C would influence and groom the next generation of flatland riders.

Later he continued to support freestyle awareness by performing demos for all the Oklahoma Metro Library locations. His sponsors include House of Wheels, DiamondBack, Nike, ACS, ODI Grips, Bell Helmets, Wheel-A-Rama, Renfro Fence Company and Aker
Construction.

Congratulation, JC Stacy on a well deserved induction to the Oklahoma BMX Hall Of Fame!

From Charles Long:

Congratulations, J.C.! From being a young kid from McCloud, Oklahoma, who would mysteriously show up at my house, to becoming part of my family and later a fantastic father to your own family, it’s been quite a journey. We shared so many laughs, countless rides, and late-night parking lot sessions. I still remember having to deal with you when you weren’t helping set up the ramp and trying to track you down after the freestyle BMX shows because you were off with some groupie. So many memories, so much blood as the tricks got wilder. You’ve passed the love of biking on to other generations, teaching tricks in your small town and beyond. Congratulations again—I can’t wait to hear your speech!

Freestyle Fly Boys

Oklahoma's Longest Performing BMX Freestyle Bicycle Trick Team

The Freestyle Fly-Boys team was formed in the early days of BMX freestyle trick riding by Charles Long, Jeff Hester and J.C. Stacy. The team began by doing trick riding performances across Oklahoma. They designed ramps and uniforms. They work with local community leaders and businesses to help bring attention to events.

As the success grew, the team decided to expand. The three founding members gathered together 4 more riders to help perform shows. These riders would be selected from the known dedicated riders in the area at the time, that showed progress and heart. This included flatland riders Glenn Martin and Terris Renfro, and ramp riders, Michael Laubach and Bryan Shade. It must be mentioned that there was an honorary member, John “The Shadow” gore that the team took under their wing. The Shadow became great friends with these riders and an amazing help to setting up shows, and more.

The team managed to gain the attention of national companies like Nike, ACS, DiamondBack and more.

Later in the years, Terris Renfro would take the lead and form the next generation of riders to take charge of the bike trick team.
