J.C. "Flatland Fanatic" Stacy

Flatland and Wedge Ramp Rider

The Freestyle Fly-Boys team was formed in the early days of BMX freestyle trick riding by Charles Long, Jeff Hester and J.C. Stacy. The team began by doing trick riding performances across Oklahoma. They designed ramps and uniforms. They work with local community leaders and businesses to help bring attention to events.

As the success grew, the team decided to expand. The three founding members gathered together 4 more riders to help perform shows. These riders would be selected from the known dedicated riders in the area at the time, that showed progress and heart. This included flatland riders Glenn Martin and Terris Renfro, and ramp riders, Michael Laubach and Bryan Shade. It must be mentioned that there was an honorary member, John “The Shadow” gore that the team took under their wing. The Shadow became great friends with these riders and an amazing help to setting up shows, and more.

The team managed to gain the attention of national companies like Nike, ACS, DiamondBack and more.

Later in the years, Terris Renfro would take the lead and form the next generation of riders to take charge of the bike trick team.

Supporting local riders and giving back to the bike community of OKC.

Once retired from the competition circuit, J.C. continued to support the BMX community of Oklahoma. In the late 90s, he performed freestyle demos for all the Oklahoma Metro Library locations, promoting freestyle awareness across the city.
